What can't I do with JJ OS1? (I didn't pay yet)

So I updated my 1000 from the free version and so far I can save all my sounds, programs, sequences to my mem card just fine... & I haven't paid for a key yet. My friend who has been producing for 12 years can't figure out either why I need to buy a key. What are we missing here? I though you weren't supposed to be able to save or something?

Actually, I'm the 3rd owner. The 2nd owner had the free version of JJOS installed, once I got it I installed OS1. Is it possible the original owner already purchased JJOS... thus, why I'm able to save samples, programs, etc...?

It's possible... if you go to the save screen it will normally have your computer system ID and ask to enter the license code...

Who knows... might be registered for OS2/OS2XL as well. It is saved in the internal flash memory so it might be in there already.

Yea, well that's the other thing... I go into the save screen and I could not find that ID that's supposed to be there.
