Listening is definitely the most important thing, and also concentrate on only the music, no distractions. some dope music can come out of something that normally wouldn't even be noticed at all because it's so small, and gets caught up in the flow of the song. Gang Starr's Mass Appeal as an example.

The thing premo does that I just can not is utilizes the space (air) in between his chops. He took the 5 chops and still made a complete sounding/flowing beat. The sample was only 3 quick seconds. Greatness!!

Pitch down, tune down, time stretch, a small amount of reverb to extend the tail maybe, cmon.

You dont want to know what I was doing wrong that had everything chopping off so quickly. (I didnt have it set to play the sample when i dont have my finger on the pad) Im a dumbass. FYI-everyone learn your equipment and software. I figured it out finally after locking myself in the house for days now and just clicking everything!! :lol:
