why would they update the controller shit only came out 2009

Why would they?

there is two versions of the controller, minor changes made.

F1 and F2 are now save snap/ auto write and keyboard is pad mode on 2gen reissue.

yo, do you know if the first version was a bit wider than the current one?

Reason I as is because I was having a template made for my controller, but they only had one
based on the first version, and it doesn't fit on the current one.

Just a thought, as I never saw the first version.

good question, I got 1st gen with F1, F2 and keyboard button. and I didnt even know about this until few days ago. stumbled upon this info on accident...If you need I can locate tape measure around the house I could give you the measurements. but so far seems like the reissue 2nd gen is bigger, now Im curious why

I know the company I was working with, their template was for the first gen, and it ended up being about an inch too wide for my controller.

Not sure what they changed lol.

Both Maschine and MPCs have software brains. Maschine's brain just happens to reside in a separate computer (a laptop in my case). The sound you get from either has more to do with what you put in. I'm not so sure about the so-called "dirty"ness that's exclusive to MPCs, having owned several of them. But if you want to get "dirty", MPC60 and SP1200 emulation is coming in the next Maschine update.

Have you even tried using Maschine? Sorry, but that's just not true. There is no noticeable latency and there is no noticeable difference compared to MPCs as many others Maschine users will attest to.

The sequencer is one of the main reasons I use Maschine. The combination of a step sequencer with visual feedback on the pads that works alongside the real-time sequencing mode makes it immensely fun and powerful. Akai has a long way to catch up especially in terms of workflow efficiency and immediacy of Maschine.

I just sold my mpc3000. Maschine is amazing...........

tried it for about four or five months, traded it for a 1000 with os-2, did not like the fact i needed my laptop to use it all the time, i like to to hit the power switch and just go! besides mpc-maid has made my life much easier. just wish akai would support there products more! I here akai has stopped manufacturing alot of replacement parts for the 1000, is that true fellas!

I've had it for a few weeks, and I'm loving it. It's perfect for the way I like to make beats. I won't get rid of my 1000, but it's not gonna get much use now. I'm getting some stupid boom bap outta this thing. And I don't feel disloyal to the MP cuz I'm really an ASR guy. I only copped the 1000 after lurking this forum for awhile.

Really? I just sold one with the LOOP/KEYBOARD keys and kept the one that has the RESTART/PAD MODE keys, and I couldn't see any noticeable difference physically. I'm not sure which version is the newest, I just sold the one I purchased first. I wonder what the differences are for real then if there are some.

I still use my 1000 though for some stuff and when I'm moving around. Sold the 4000 even before I bought Maschine. Maschine is cool but I gotta keep an MPC too. I like my 1000.
