use my JJ os XL license on another MPC

I need to carry a spare JJ OS XL with me.
Just in case I have to play a show and I arrive to a place and my MPC 1000 does not work.
I could then upload the XL to a borrowed replacement MPC.

But there is a problem

JJ website says that the System is bound to the machine.
If you have a new Machine, you need to buy a new license.

-> ok that´s fine with me

you need to enter the individual Product ID of OS1 or 2 in order to get the Password for the XL upgrade within 24 hours.

-> well, the problem is that I will have rather 30 minutes for that than 24 hours.
-> What can I do?
-> Does anyone have a connection to JJ ?

I have no problem paying 80$ for another license.
JJ deserves every cent he charges for is work.

anyways...if all you need it for is temporary then just load the free OS on the backup MPC.....

Look, I am travelling around all the time, I can´t always take 2 MPCs with me.
I want to use os2XL, and I want some kind of a backup solution.

money is not the issue at all.

I switched from the 4000 to the 1000, also because the 4000 is dying out.
Now I have a 1000 which at least 100 kids have in every city.
But I will not be able to take advantage of that fact, because I can´t load the right OS on it.

beside that - you can´t access OS2 without a "24 hour" password too as far as I know.

Can't you just load it and use it unregistered?

The only thing it won't do is save, but you don't need that at a live show right?

yeah but don't you need os1 already to even be able to load os2/os2xl?

If you are traveling to do shows the MPC becomes a carryon item.
Get a carrying bag put the MPC in it and carry it same as you would a laptop.
Either that or change to something more standard across the board.

Lots of little speed bumps with using the JJ OS in certain situations this is just one.

You download the program from the site for trying. Then you decide this is perfect (it is I feel). Proceed to buy the code from JJ.
This code you have to put in to already downloaded program in order for all fucntions to work. Now, you don`t have to download a special version of the os, but just put in the code. Doesn`t it mean that you then can use the same code on others? Just need both codes, which is already provided. Reason for this is that there is no authentication process i.e internet connection like with windows..

Of course I support JJ by paying, but this is what grinds my gears..

ALL JJ codes are machine specific.

This is why you have to pay for each machine you use it on.

yea i'm feeling the same as znzn. once got to the venue abroad to find out that 1k had been damaged within the flight (yes, they really don't care about your luggag, stuff can get smashed even if you pack them properly...).

there was a bunch of MPC's to borrow but none with OS1 installed which would have allowed me to install 2XL and load my project for temporary use. OS1 users are more safe with this issue than 2XL users...

it's a shame since 1k is such a standard equipment that you can find one in critical situation pretty easy, but with jj there is this risk.

Why would your mpc not work......take care of it and you'll be good....or just buy another 1000 ....you seem to got some bread....tryin to buy the os's for every random mpc you use dont make sense ......
