I beg of you PLEASE help CF error

ERROR 0000:D29C when i try to format it, OS is 1.20
My card is sandisk CF ultra II 2GB and now you will say try the 1GB, but it's hard to find here.

I do find 1GB extreme III, but I heard the type III cards won't work. I don't want to waste money on CF cards that won't work.

All I wanna do is get it to format but the error keeps comin' up, PLEASE HELP! PLEASE!

Ive worked with Sandisk CF Ultra 2Gb cards with a 2500 and 1000 and they work fine. Appreciate you haven't got the same mpc but I don't think the whole product range is incompatible - I've generally heard good things about Sandisk.

Testing the card will depend on what you've got available of course but it could actually be a hardware error in the card.
If possible - have you got a cf card reader ? try formatting the card in your pc.

I have a card reader and I have formatted it to FAT on my pc, even tried to partition it with Linux, but I still get the error messege when i try to format it on the MPC afterwards

they all work fine, doesn't matter if ultra II or extreme III thats sounds strange no files on it and it won't format?! there must be something wrong with your card reader, did use any other cf card in your mpc? or just the cf ultra II? where did u buy the card reader?
