god its crazy how bad the cam makes red look hot pink. lol
so you gonna do anything with the LEDS, or are you gonna paint the CF cover slot or the DVD Drive bezel?

I did a bunch of stuff do my 2500 and a friends 5000, and for the life of me I cant remember if I ever posted the pics right now.

His 5k had the leds all swapped with blue ones, we did blue pads, and I sprayed specific buttons he wanted in Blue, as well as the CF slot cover and dvd bezel, etc, etc.

Mine I pretty much blacked out, and did my LEDS in all white.

But having seen your custom work inspired me to tear my 25k down yet again and finally install the new screen bezel and LCD window, to replace the scratched up one. And I had a single Function button extra which I decided to spray Red and use as the Direct Record button Since everything record wise is Red.

I would say "Pics soon to follow" but I suck at keeping my word wit that. lol
Plus I need to get some kind of black sealant/glue from the auto parts store to secure the lcd window into the bezel for it. suggestions?
I tried thin dbl stick tape, but it doesn't hold well enough. So I need that stuff before I can put it back together and have any hope of taking pics. blah blah

if not check it here viewtopic.php?f=8&t=112878&hilit=custom

i use the double sided tape..lol for my window and it works well..maybe just try another kind...look for the real "3m" kind.

yeah I have seen all your other stuff. good sh!t. Getting better IMO too.
Im actually about to run out to autozone now to grab some black sealant.. silicon or something.
Whatever I can apply in a thin line that will hold the window in place, but be fairly easy to remove if I ever wanna replace it.

And B.read.

I think i posted pics of my 2500 when I had done just the LEDS on the qlink board. And I know I posted the photoshopped pics of what I was thinking about doing. But never the finished project.
I already have pics of the work I did on my friends 5000. I just have to post em. Should I post them here, despite this being the 2500 thread? or just make a thread in the 5000 forum and link it.. hMmMMmmMM

oh well.. Ill be back. going to autozone now.

Okay note to self and others. ...
definitely do NOT use Black Silicone Adhesive Sealant on the backside of the LCD bezel and LCD window. Its too hard to apply and is to flexible even after setting. I was a bit worried about its adhesion to plastic, which didnt seem to be an issue. But the flexibility is an issue and it doesn't provide enough rigidity to hold/seal the window flush to the bezel.

I also got some Plastic Emblem & trim adhesive and Im gonna try that.
If all else fails, I have Professional grade cyanocrylate fast setting glue(high end crazy glue) but its possibly to thin.

So we'll see. more to come.

hey post that 5000 in that thread i posted..its just custom work from everyone...and i was gonna say stay away from the sealent but,,,live and learn ya know..

about the led.s..im probably going to leave them all red because the highlights of the machine itself will be red so it all match's good..the dvd bezel is in question right now because i dont want to snap the little clips,,so im trying to get it off carefully,,,the sd surround is now silver, the front plate is red,the sides are red,the screen surround is red,the sliders are red with silver stripes, the knobs are white with red tops,i got the black record buttons with the clear strips in them from mpcstuff,

not sure about the button scheme yet,

i even paint the bottom of my machines,,so this one is silver with a red exm door..

my main reason for this paint job is because
a.i was sick of the green
b. i want it to match my alesis micron..(it sits right undernieth it)
gonna look dope..
screen is at the labeler now, probly wont get it back till round friday so by then i should have all the other stuff ready to go and i can put it all back together..

im also working on a 1000,,i realy like the blue but hate the blue and red together (reminds me of fisher price)
so i have a translucent cobalt candy blue that i sprayed directly over top of the case so now its got more of a metallic look..
and i took the front, sides and jog and made them white, made the sd surround blue, waiting on pad upgrade, white f1 buttons, white pads, and blue screen,,as soon as they get here this one will be done also..

i'll post more pics when i take some..
