considering the cost, what would be the practical advantage? Its not like we are trying to save a laptop battery here. Performance probably wont be any better, or possibly even worse, mainly because the OS needs to be optimized to make use of the slight differences in how the storage works (or so I understand it).

Of course, I could be wrong.

someone did, and of course it's much quieter

I asked this person if he could check if the HarddiskTracks still work from SSD (as it's slower the Harddisk) but never got any answer unfortunately, or I would mount an SSD immediately.

I tried to mount a CF card with IDE to CF converter, but it did not work (CF was not recognized by Akai OS as 'Harddrive')

word up to the above statement i also noticed you can feel a slight buzz when you touch either the casing or when holding a button. and no, its not the bass...

third case being that it eliminates all moving parts which is pretty mind blowing when you think of the size and capabilities of this thing..

just want tolhe thing to be a slick inside as it is outside too..
