Akai IB-4ADT ?? 8outs?

hey everyone..im looking to pick one of these up..im trying to find out what is the differnce between the two? do they both have the same function besides the fact one uses multiple cables vs one? so its possibly to track out multiple tracks with just one adat cable to like say a digi 002?

adat = 8 channel output via 1 optical toslink connector.

8 outs = analog output of 8 channels, 8 actual cables.

Same output on both, adat is uncompressed digital
and analog is well, regular 8 out via cables.
