 *sighs* I liked it better when it was pink cot damnit.

NAH im just playin yo.

Yo the silver/red/black Color combo is lookn dope. Im anxious to see the finished product.

Some of the Black/Red button placements you have in the pic are ones I was kickin around doing myself.
Got the black and red paint and everything, but after doing some photoshops of em, and getting opinions, I decided to just black em all out for now.

Seeing yours kinda makes me wish I woulda done some more red.
I may have to redo some of my buttons now. LOL

in all seriousness tho.. sh!t is coming along tight.
Im interested in seeing the silk screened text on the top cover.
Did you keep all the font work the same or deviate from the OEM overlay.
Also what goes into having that done. Is there a schematic for it that you got/have from like style flips site or something?
Or is the place your dealing with just going off of a picture?

Im curious about all that. Enlighten me please.
Great work so far.

first off thanks man....
about the screen printing...what i do is take my case to a "vinyl decal/screen printing shop" before i do anything to it,,,they then will take my case for a day or two while they make up a template,,then they call me back in to make sure its all good and lines up nice..then if so,they still keep the screen while they make the film (the film is the final template)...then after they get it all set up,they call me back in so i can pick up the case to paint it...i then paint the case and let it dry for a couple days, then return it to them,,then they will print the text back on and call me in to pick it up,,after i pick it up i clear coat it to keep the lettering protected..

as for the fonts,,i like to keep it original...i call my music "pay attention music" so i am having them print pay attention undernieth the bottom pads..i also have them put akai "custom" instead of "professional".

im looking at buying a screen printing machine but right now i have no room so as soon as we move i will be purchasing one,,and then i will be doing all screen printing myself...they cost around a thousand bux and everytime i get a case done it cost me around 200,,

so to do the math is rewarding..

Word. Informative. THANKS for the detailed reply. I would LOVE to do that sh!t.
I just dont have 2 bills to spend on a non essentials right now. Im still trying to figure out where Im'a get the 1400 bucks to pay for my property taxes. lol

but yo good looks on the info. I was curious how that was done.. Had an Idea that's how it was, which you just verified. (as well as clarified the correct terminology)

So when U picking it up from them?

your welcome,,and it seems that there a little faster this time than last couple times but usually takes 3 or 4 days..

after they print(they only have one printer and hes pretty backed up)
they have to let it dry for 24 hours..so i will give them a week then call, then they usually call back with it the next day lol...and i know they rushed it so i let it dry myself.haha..

but because i have no intentions of letting this one go,im going to leave them alone and let them take as long as they need (reasonably anyhow)..7 days is reasonable for me haha...

Nice! Now, when you go to the shop and have them make a template- is that the only time they'll charge you to make a template and screen for that model mpc?

^^thanks..and yep,,i asked them the first time i made a 2000xl if they would hold the screen and she said "sure thing"
so now any xl after is about 60 bux cheaper..

i have the screen for the
2000
2000xl
2500
1000

didnt bother with the 500...

and soon i will be buying my own press and i will make a site for customizing or just screen printing alone if someone else wants to customize...i will also be doing other machines and shirts..
were looking to move very soon and as soon as we do i'll have the room for it,,money is no thing so im just waiting on space..very near future..im super excited...ive already got my screens, emulsion, film, ink, lights, and tools..just waiting on room for the press..its frigin big..check it out

Cool...do you plan on doing LED installs too, or just the painting/screening side of custom work?
