Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By cbas the 3rd Tue Jan 12, 2010 10:30 pm
hi guys,i aint posted here in years and have tried looking for similar problems already.
found a couple of things that made me feel my prob was related, but alas didnt work.
my problem is this;
after samplin or loading samples.my samples whilst assigned to the pads always trigger in the most horrible way.
basically the simplified explanations this-every 4/5 presses on any pad i get a fourth or fifth hit thats not only extremely loud, but sonds like has some feedback/distortion thing happening????kinda like a segment of a snare almost....
has anyone else experienced ths?
is kinda drivin me up the wall as im used to using a 1000 n a 500.
the 2000 classic aint no xl.but i got one for 160 pounds(around 300 us dollars)
so i intend to learn it like my other machines.
i have used the initialise feature and pads stll play up.
please can someone help me solve this?im gona take pads n sensors out 4 a airduster cleaning sesh to be sure its not technical.
thank you guys
c bas

What took you so long to get 3 posts, LMAO.

Just kidding.

Reseat your RAM.

If more than one stick, take out one and retry the pads.
That way you can test each stick of RAM.

If it still happens with both sticks then RAM may be going bad.

2mb is hardwired.

If you place 8mb stick in there your total ram will read 10mb.
If you place more than 8mb in there your mpc ignores the motherboard default 2mb ram.

Actually in the MPC 2000 manual (on page 166  ) it says the default 2mb ram isn't ignored until two 16mb sticks of ram are installed.
