Connecting mpc to my computer

I want to connect my mpc to my computer to record sounds as midi data so i can edit it with in nuendo i have a midi usb inter face cable it has a midi in and out on one side and usb on the other when i try to connect my mpc to my computer it only allows me to play my mpc from my computer i know how to record the the sounds as audio but i wat to record the sound from my mpc into my computer as midi data Please any help would be appreciated.

There's a few things you'll have to decide on first, which device is going to be my master? If it's the computer, set up Nuendo to be the master and send midi time code or midi clock to the mpc.

Then set the mpc to recieve either of the formentioned sync formats but also make sure you send midi out from the mpc back to the pc.

Remember, in this case you're only recording data, not audio. But on playback, the data triggers the sounds you set forth on the mpc.

can u recommend a interface because i think mine is the problem cause Im still not fully understanding how to do this
