MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

Hi forum. I just got my MPC5000 and I am absolutely loving it (version 2.0). It really feels solid, and I love working with it.

One question I have regards the FX settings. When an FX set is saved, and the project is saved to disk, with what object is the FX set saved? Is there any way to load an effect setup from one project to another? Are the 20 FX sets stored in the MPC5000 and therefore persistent between projects?

I am working on building up a live set built around the MPC (because I hate laptops) and I would like to do each song as its own project before creating a master project containing everything I need for the gig. Anyone doing this sort of thing with their MPC care to comment?

Thanks in advance.

i'm pretty sure you can only copy and paste within the same project/song.

the fx settings are saved under (save all sequences and songs)

i'm pretty sure, but not 100%

For reference, I found that you can do this.

The settings are stored in the All Songs & Sequences file, and you can use the window button when loading them to select that you only want to load an effect into your current project.

this is correct! but you can not switch effects on the fly on a per track basis. that would be dope.

what I did is always resample the sound again and again using the effects preferences..then assigned it or those samples on the each pads that I want to hit...

just put this in mind, during live sets, some strange thing will occur..so for safe reason..just resample all sounds...

good luck
