"16 layer" issue

but..I add a bass sound to a pad in it's own program and then hit 16 layersbutton, then velocity, and the sound is spread over the pads. perfect.

problem is that when i try to go back to the program with the bass, it's no longer on the 16layer format. i have to hit 16 layer button again and again.

am i doing something wrong? why not just stay in the 16layer format? then when i save and go back to it, it's again, no longer there...sometimes it even erases the pattern i played on the sequence..

? help a brotha out.

I think you can solve this problem by building an instrument program with just that one sample. You can build it so that you have the original sample on the same pad as you have it in the drum program, if that is an issue. Good luck
