Beaterator? You have to be F'ing with me....

I bought Beaterator last night for my PSP. My curiousity got the best of me I guess.

The "live play" with Timbaland is a waste....

The "studio" is almost a waste, until you realize that they allow you to import your own samples. You import loops or one-shot samples. You create and save your own drum kits for quick loading later Pretty cool. And then it gets really deep. You can chop and stretch samples. You can assign a sample chromatically across keys. Play a note and it will create chords for you. There's a synthesizer. Lots of effects. Song mode. You can save songs as audio files.

I'm pretty blown away by the depth. It rivals BeatMaker on the iphone for the surprise it generated when I first started using it.

Downside so far is that it is very different creating beats using buttons. i'm used to taping them out on pads.

It's $20 bones. Check it out if you're even remotely interested in sketching beats on the fly and don't have an iphone.

My friend was telling me about this about a month ago, and he bought a psp just to purchase the Beaterator.

Oh shit, I forgot to mention...and I can't believe you can do this.

There are two effects per track in beaterator. You can automate the effects to change over the course of a song. F'ng brilliant.

Beatmaker's better imo. It has more of an MPC feel to it and lots of deep features. iphone is more mobile, and i always have it with me.

Beaterator is close. I find it easier to get large amounts of samples into than Beatmaker. Beaterator also has a synthesizer. I get better batter life from my PSP, but it's not as mobile.

I bought it for PSP a few months back and it's the best mobile beat maker / synth around. Have first gen PSP so added mic for sampling. Some excellent features and allows some fairly deep editing of synths, etc. Very quick and easy to get beats together using your own samples. Can be exported, etc , too. Everything is designed to keep the workflow going and it even lets you Load while the sequencer is playing. Considering the obvious limitations of the user interface, they've done a great job and, at that price, it's currently an absolute no brainer if you're considering options.

BEATERATOR IS ASS! It takes too long to preview or load samples. i mean, yea, ok, you can edit synths...big woop! lol. Traxxpad reminds me of an MPC or an SP or whatever... Beaterator is pretty much a DAW on a psp and Traxxpad is essentially a sampler... But thats just my opinion... I had both Traxxpad and Beatorator... i have had Traxxpad for about 3 years now... I picked up Beaterator a couple months ago and took it back a week later.

Traxxpad can put out some good ish if you treat it right lol...
