Tap tempo/ note repeat

Hi all, my tap tempo button works for TC but not for note repeat....? I have no idea what has happened and am losing hair fast, please help.......

you need to have some type of quantize selected in order for note repeat to function

Damn, that sounds so simple, many thanks I will certainly be checking that out tonight.....

thinking about it I wanted to use the note repeat after laying down my kick (which I dont use tc for as I like it loose) and that would certainly explain it all.
