alright, sorry for this thread, but i'm feeling really frustrated now, and i just hope sharing my latest ebay experience with someone who understands might help me to calm down a bit. the fail might be not so epic off course for a seasoned diggers 
a week ago i saw the complete UBB collection (25 records, excellent condition etc.) on ebay with "buy it now" price set to 180 USD with immediate payment required (it may be not a big deal for you lot, but it's really hard to find something like this here, where i live, also buying those records from ebay one by one will cost you a lot more, and i just wanted to have this collection on vinyl).
the seller has only specified US as a possible shipping destination, but added a note that international buyers are welcome. i have dropped him a line immediately, asking whether he will ship to russia and how much will it cost. he answered the next day, telling me it's OK, and supplying me with the postage cost. as i had the money ready i clicked the "buy it now" button, but only found that the check out procedure stops at "review your purchase" screen with some message like "the seller has not specified the shipping charge for your destination". the was an option to add the delivery charges manually, and i've entered the amount suggested by the seller, but no matter what, i just couldn't continue with paypal. i have immediately dropped him a line, describing the situation and asking him whether to change the shipping options to "worldwide" or remove the "immediate payment" requirements (so i could just won the item and ask him for the total). no bids were made at that moment. the seller turned out to be a really nice person, willing to help, so he sent me a message, where he told me he might win me a few bucks sending the records in a flatrate box, and asked whether i would like it.
and that's where i made a huge mistake. should have asked him to sort out the winning bid first. but i've told him OK, i'll wait a bit. so i've waited next few days, receiving the messages from him, about him visiting the different post offices because of the difficulties with finding a proper box. while all this was happening a couple of bidders have appeared. so yesterday he dropped me a line, telling the flatrate won't be possible and he's waiting for my decision on how i would like to ship them. i've sent him a message straight away, asking to ship the records via USPS Exrpess Mail International in whatever box they will fit into and telling him to do something about the "buy it now" option.
i haven't yet received his answer (and probably will not), but about half an hour ago, somebody has ended the auction with "buy it now". that's it end of story. the only person i should be mad at and blame for what just happened is myself. another lesson learned.
