akai miniak drums sounds vs mo phatt

hi i want to buy the miniak and i like to know what users think of the drums inside??i look for a mo phatt but if the miniaks drums are good it ll save some money for me..i sample my drums but i look after some open hat or 808 kick etc...thanxx

I would go for the Mo phatt. I love the EMU drums.

i want that mo phatt sounds but i need a keyboard for some synth,bass,leads ,analog style sounds.do you think the mo is good for that??maybe a mo phatt and a microkorg for the price of a miniak??thanx

the miniak's drum sounds aren't samples... they're sounds created with the built-in synth engine. so if you want actual drum samples, you would have to go with the mo phatt.

mo phatt's are selling for cheap right now on ebay [average 150] i would jump on one if i was you. i have the micron [which is the same as the miniak just in a different casing] and it has some great patches, but the drums aren't anything you'll actually wanna use given other options...

I used to have the mk-6, loved it...

first keyboard I actually started making my own sounds on, emu synth engine is very nice.

If you can find the board grab that, if not the rack and a controller is great too.
