MPC 1000 noob help

So i just bought an MPC 1000 off ebay, and i started to mess with it just last night and recordedtwo seperate tracks and playing it back together. Track one has hats and track two has kicks, when listening to them seperately(muting the other track) they sound perfect, but when i play them both together, some parts of each track is fuzzy/blank.

I'm listening to it on playback through my headphones (sony mdr studio monitors) that are directly hooked up to the mpc.

hopefully this is an issue with how im recording and i didn't get scammed with a faulty system.

do you mean you sequenced them out and are letting them play together? or did you resample and are now using your new samples...... if you could, be a little more specific

i have sound stored in my cf card so i assigned each sound to a pad and as i played the kickdrum line i recorded it under one track and same for the hats.
im not really sure what sequencing them out means so if you can explain that it will be great.
the line on top of track (on the display screen) was named sequence 1 if that helps.

k, sounds like you recorded a sequence, sometimes if you have the tc (timing control) set wrong things wont come out sounding right. were you recording one sequence while the other one played? try setting your tc (one of the buttons directly under the screen) to either 1/8 or 1/16, set your swing to 50% and re-record your sequences. see if it helps otherwise id have to hear it to give a better diagnosis

Change your mono/poly settings. It's in the manual.

currently the TC is at 1/16 with a 50 swing.
playback sounds fine but it doesnt start at the beginning of my recording, it actually starts in the middle, any advice for that?

Sounds if you aren't bringing your track back to zero before playback, use your step keys and bring it back to the beginning
