I bought is? at no longer allows tha patch cable that has four stero jacks on one end and eight mono jacks (every other one labeled ring or tip) on the other end. Akai manual says if I pan my mixer channels hard left and hard right, I shoud be able to get 8 outs from the four para outs on mpc 1000 in this manner, but It's not working. Was something changed in jjos this? has anyone has success with this method?

thanks

the four assignable outs are mono. you have to use mono patchcables.
then you can adjust in your mpc mixer the outputchannels (L/OUT) to "ST" > Main Out,
"12" > out 1 and 2 = Stereo, "34" > out 3 and 4 = Stereo,
"1", "2", "3", "4" > out 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 = every is Mono.

For example;
mono out 1, to mono in 1 at your mixer, mono out 2 to mono in 2 at your mixer,
then pan the channels hard left and hard right.

Yeah i figured that out last night, but the manual is very misleading, read this excerpt:

01. In the MIXER mode, press the [F2] (L/OUT) key.
The Level/OUT page will be displayed.
Each column indicates pad 1 though 16 from the left
and the currently selected pad is highlighted. The display
at the top is the field, where you where you will
assign a specific pad to a specific assignable ouput.
02. Hit the desired pad.
The column for the selected pad will now be highlighted.
03. Press the up cursor key.
You can change the setting by turning the DATA wheel.
ST The pad will be output to the stereo out.
1/2 The pad will be output to the assignable
mix out 1/2.
3/4 The pad will be output to the assignable
mix out 3/4.
Tips : The output setting is made in stereo pairs. If you wish to
output eight monaural signals separately from the eight assignable
mix outs, use the pan settings in the L/PAN page. For example, to
use the assignable mix out 1/2 as two mono outs, in the L/OUT
page, set the output to 1/2 and set the pan setting of the pad you
wish to output from the out 1 and 2 to L and R respectively.

it DOES say 8 MONAURAUL outs doesn't it? Makes you wonder. And I blew $35.00 on a 4stero to 8 mono patch cable for nothing......... sheesh!

Its a typo. Maybe it is a paste from the 2500 manual, but the reality is all you have to do is look at the back of your 1k...

Its technically 6 outputs Stereo L/R and the 4 assignable outs. The cable you bought is pretty useless. That would be used more for like inserts on a physical mixer. Just return it and get the correct cables and you'll be fine. Just remember the assignables are unbalanced
