been on ableton 7 for a min now.

just got ableton 8. it's very nice!

i'll prob do a Live broadcast on Justin.Tv using ableton soon, if anyone is interested in checkin it out.

ok.ive definately seen the light now.ableton is my favorite software.means i can mix every sound ive ever recorded together in a long everchanging collage.wow it makes things easier!!!

Ableton live truly allows you a way to do ANYTHING you can imagine

used since version 4 (came free with pro tools)


version 5 added mp3 support


upgraded to live 8 got an apc 40

got a shure x2 u usb preamp then pro tools went out the F@!#@!#@ window.



Anybody that disses Ableton Does so simply out of ignorance of how to use it PERIOD

LOL man only reason i even ever bought pro tools was because studio clients had heard of it and expected it

but after learning ableton, pro tools is like 1/10 as useful in comparison just twice as old though so had a 10 year advantage on establishing itself


now i only used prorools versions 6 & 7 so if they have flipped it on version 8 i don't know

but damn, ableton you can make beats with drumracks/mpc and your drums/samples are getting tracked out as you make it, then can fold all those drum rack tracks into a submix track out of the way then go ahead an record the rapper or singer , then mix everything

and that's just like a 10th of what you can do

I still got love for Pro Tools.

Here's what I have found out sound quality wise.

I can do a beat in Ableton Live. Tweak it with effects, edits, arrange it, etc...

Then when I'm done... I export all my tracks out of Ableton Live seperate, then import them into Pro Tools to mix the levels.

I'm not sure what it is, but when you export out of Ableton and import into Pro Tools, the beats sounds so much fuller, wider and just all around better.

Give it a try. You really can hear the difference.
