No hate.. and you got plenty of shine.. so Im sure you wont mind me stealing just a tad of it.
But the repainting of the lines on the fader.. I got you on that son. LOL

Back this summer when I was working on my joint My man with the 5000 BEGGED me to do his fader lines in blue. so I did.
although by the looks of yours Im guessing you used a paint pen?

I aint got much time so here is just a quick pic.. I'll try and upload more and post later or tomorrow.

thats nice x...i do like how u did the cd drive bezel,,looks super clean..

i actualy did my sliders with a sprayer..after i did them red i just taped off the outside and sprayed the line,,but because im so impatient i did them sooner than i should have and thats why they look like they do.

was hoping i got my case today but they never called and i have to go to ny for 5 days now so i wont be able to see it till i get back..sooo..neither will you

well i'll post it when i return..till then keep this joint alive

word see u in 5 then. and thanks for the compliments.

Yeah on those black faders, since all I needed was the blue lines I just cleaned the faders off with degreaser, then used green automotive painters tape to mask the black, and used a piece of cardboard 12x12 and poked holes in it to insert q-tip ends (with the cotton ends cutoff), and then popped the faders on the q-tips.
then did several really light coats of paint to prevent the paint from drying thick at the tap edges and creating a edge of line that could be felt. plus I had meticulously applied the tape in the first place so that the paint edge would be more towards the recess of the faders line rather that on the top surface area of the fader it self, if you know what I mean.

But Im OCD like that so.. lol

more to come later.

keepin it alive

damn thats disgusting! I love the black overlay on the silver. I do have a question tho.
On the stock joint the text is white and red. obviously on a silver background you would do black and not white, but why not include the Red text for all the Pad Modes to go with your color motif?

I think that extra detail would just be insane looking! especially with Red Pads!

but that aside, this thing looks crazy I love it. Cant wait to see it built and next to its matching counterparts!

i was thinking of doing red text but the price of changing colors on a screen print is unbelievable...and also theres so much red parts going into it that i wanted to keep the screen as silver as posible..

the "akai custom" is a seperate screen and because it was so small it and 1 color it didnt cost that much..

once u see the buttons on the silver,ul be glad i left the lettering black..its gonna be hot..already put 2 coats of clear on...im going by eye on how many coats i use but i want it to look "rubbery" if u know what i mean..

word that makes sense. what do you mean by rubbery?

I like the matte look it has now. your not using gloss clear are you?

I hate the look of some of the spray jobs forat does. not to take anything away from his work , but the paint and clear appear to be layered on so thick, that it builds up and accumulated around all the cutouts on the top cover, and makes the edges around the cutouts appear to be raised up or even embossed. like bad photoshop embossing. surely if sprayed heavily or in multiple coats too soon where the wet paint/clear can build at those edges, and naturally next to an opening, it wants to run, build, or even drip (if really heavily applied) , it ends up looking mad wack to me.

if you dont know what im talking about I can find a pic and point it out.
Im guessing you do know what I mean tho.

 yeah forat makes his look like candy car paint jobs...not me,,but i have to clear it in order for the lettering to be protected..i used a textured silver paint,,so if u rub it hard enough your finger will turn silver,,it actualy has silver flake in it,so thats what ends up on your finger..and if rubed hard enough the paint will turn a dull silver...i had to have this whole conversation with the labeler cause he kept putting his fingers on it..i think he got mad :P cause he asked me why the paint looked shitty on the side near the edge and i said cause it gets covered with side panels... ..glad he still did a decent job... :D

but anyhow yeah i have to clear this paint or it will definetly end up flaking off..its the clear that bonds it all together and because its a flake, the clear makes it glisten more..and i want it to match my alesis micron..its almost identical,,im so frigin anxious for this to be in working order....
