hi!

my first post, great board!

i am sorry but i come with a problem. my new mpc 1000 had the os 2.13.

i uploaded the jj os 3.09 and had a lot of trouble with chop (no automatic anymore etc.) so i wanted to switch back to 2.13 but it do no exist, so i took 2.12, but now i have this "fast data wheel" problem.

so i switched back to jj os to select another setting (1 / 2) and turned the mpc off, no chance, data wheel is always to fast under the akai os.

any ideas?

any ideas where i can get akai 2.13 again?

thank you!

search in the jj os section for datawheel, I think theres a way to adjust the speed.

thank you, but i mean that JJ OS switched my data wheel function speed, and the akai os can not work normaly anymore!

no chance to downgrade!

sorry, i had fun with the mpc for a few days, but why these mysteroius chop functions in this jj os? no auto chop anymore? no downgrade possible?

Jjos is the way to go, to my knowledge the "auto chop" feature, cuts a sample into equal parts, which would be great except, musicians are rarely perfectly on time. Chop your samples yourself, you'll be happy with the results

hm, you must have the only jjos that doesnt have auto chop. sucks for you :P

ya know there's not only an akai manual but jj has a manual as well. small world.

hello, thats right, isn´t the only function, but there where several in 2.13 that are not in jj os 3.09, like next sequence, assign sample to pad etc. etc.

i think i´ll buy jj os 1, but you know what i mean?

greetings

Its probable that Akai OS 2.13 addressed the data wheel issues, while 2.12 did not (that might explain why Akai has not released 2.13 as a download - as it would only be needed on more recent machines with a newer datawheel (speculation)). The data wheel is a piece of hardware, no software can change the way it functions at the hardware level. The issue is that the 2.12 software may not know how to handle it, while 2.13 does.

Anyway, get JJ and don't look back... Lack of funds is the only reason not to, but in that case, just lay off the green and the dranks for a couple weeks...

hello,

i think you are right, no problem, the thing is, that jj os 3.09 does not implement some functions, that are basic on 2.13, so it´s for me a "half" downgrade.. some useful functions, some are away..

no problems, so many people are happy with jj os, so i will go that way

thank you very much for help, great community! :)

ps.: although i will buy jj os, an akai 2.13 os would be very good, any chance to get it somewhere?

Everything is fixed now, support from Akai also good, quick reply and very helpfully.

There will come the 2.13 OS soon, with support for SATA hard drives.

Thanks for help!

Greetings from Germany!
