WOW. Great job man. it looks really dope. Matches the alesis perfectly.
are you keeping the green screen? keeping the white Mode LED?
and how bout the off white knobs? swapping for black with red tops, or maybe red with black tops?

We all know... it NEVER ends. lol

DOPE JOB!!!!

the green screen matches the micron better anyway...

as a fellow micron owner, i gotta admit... that mpc is a beauty.

when you tried the leds did you make sure to insert them correctly?

also what leds were you using?

and you want Red?

I actually have some OEM reds left over from removing them from my 2500.

I have the specs on the oem joints, but you wont be able to find the exact ones. they are only available in BULK. You can find leds that will work with similar specs (which I also have in red)
but the specs have to be pretty close to the originals.

most importantly, if insert them the wrong way they wont work, and you can also short out the led. not to mention you have to be VERY careful when removing and soldering new ones, as the contacts on the PCB's in the 2500 are GARBAGE single layer contact points which will EASILY separate from the PCB if too much heat is applied. The temp limit is like 220F I believe.. but even using a soldering iron at that temp, when applied for too long will STILL make the contacts come off. and no contact point means ur phucked. if that happens I DO have a fix, but its a pain in the ass to do and pretty rigged.

anyway, i'll wait for your reply and hit ya back after.

Word, on my 1K it came right off the board. I had to make a bridge of solder. What a pain in the A**

ive done leds in my 2000xl all red ones..the problem is that the blue ones i get are all different from the red ones....they have packs at radio shack of multi color ones that worked fine but there were no blue ones in there..

i dont need the exact specs..just voltage and wattage and amperage,,or whatever it is..i see theres all diferent ones..

buying in bulk is fine
i just bought another 50 that didnt work..lol
i know all about polarity and all that and im good with the soldering..done tacts, potientiometers, contrast pods, sliders,,screen(that was a sunuvabich)(did the pins on the back from the ribbon)..

so give up the info ..
j.k..pleaaaaaase!!!!!

why are u looking for blue?

anyway lemme find the specs.. ill get back shortly..

and when I said in bulk.. i meant like thousands at a time. the company that makes the oem red joints only sells to large companies that uses them for like large scale production and wut not.

yo what color do you need. I still have several in different colors that worked.
I've sold some to members of the forum. (Pound is one of em and can vouch)

the joints I have WORK.

anyway spec wise.. voltage depends on the color, but I got best results with 3.0v-3.4v 24mA
5000-6000mcd. and the viewing angle will greatly vary how they look under the clear buttons.
the ones I wound up using were flat top white leds with a 180 degree viewing angle, and they illuminate the entire button rather that look like a color dot underneath it.

anyway, depending on what color and how many you need, I may have you all hooked up.

guess we posted at the same time.
but yo BLUE is the ONLY color I dont have.

just follow the specs. and I dunno about the 2000, but those specs are fine for the 1000.

the joints you have may have been lower voltage and just shorting out. or higher voltage and not getting enough juice. or just backwards cause you was lit maybe, so the leds wasnt.

I hear ya! I need some blues for my 1000, but want to OEM lumination since the aftermarket ones are so bright...if you cop a big batch of the OEM lights, I'm sure you could recoup at least SOME of your investment from selling them here. Who knows! Maybe you could get some business installing them too... :D

the blue joints I put in my boys 5000 lit up the entire buttons.
I can install them joints easy and would be more than down if anyone wants LED installs. the 5000's have better PCB's. 2500 and 1000 is easy just gotta be more careful.
