song making question

what i usually do is make a program with the samples that I want to use and then make my sequence. How can I do the song where I have different sections have track mutes and drop outs? Do I have to copy the sequence and go into step edit and delete the events for when I want for instance, the bass to drop out in the middle of a bar? let me know if you can

i think going into step edit for the drop out is the way to go. once you do that it will never need to be thought of. every time you hear it or some1 else does, you won't need to remember to do it.
