hey i found a 1200 for $130.00 but the platter is loose and the dude said its missing something in the middle,,,he wasnt sure what it was,,but i found an online parts store that carries most parts to fix the plater...i think this would be an easy inexpensive fix...but i have no idea as ive never seen a loose platter,,,if anybody can tell me what might cause this,it would be apreciated,,
and if u think it would be a good deal..
i have no trouble re-building things,,i was just wondering if anybody has had any experience with a wobbly platter and if so,,what part was it??
the dude said it still plays fine and looks good but something happened to make it wobble?????????

Post some pics bro. I curious too since I've never even seen a woobly platter on a 1200.
Unless the drive circuit board is missing.

Here's the service manual to help you...

maybe he just didnt secure it? If thats the case, you got a steal. If not, maybe the shaft assembly aint bolted down.

having said that, ive never had the pleasure of opening a 1200. Ive opened up some belt drives, my numark and a gemini I recently found in the dumpster. But normally the shaft is connected to the motor. The motor is bolted down. Does the platter only wobble when its on, or is it shaky when you touch it?(no homo)

Its actually pretty sturdy, is a PX 2000. No reverse, but 3 speeds and it only needs a new needle, and a power cord(ordered one tuesday), and it works! Not bad for free.

marker can easily be removed... try some rubbing alcohol and if that doesn't work try out one of those magic eraser sponge things (i think mr clean makes them or something)
