I just bought my MPC and im thinking of putting in a 20gb hardrive that i have lying around the house.

It's a Toshiba MK2003GAH (20gb) [im actually taking the hard drive out of my toshiba gigabeat mp3 player which i dont use anymore)

I know i have to by the HDM-10 Hard Drive Kit but i have no clue if this hard drive is compatible and i don't know where to check.

I have a 512mb flash card, i just want to bring kits, sounds, and songs from my pc to the mpc so do you guys think this card would be enough or should i use my 20gb hard drive.

on that note, does anyone know where i can download kits(hip-hop/electronic/techno)?

Thanks Guys in advance!

I'm pretty sure that one will work.

if it will fit correct in the hdm-10 kit then it will most likely work

i put a 120gb in mine from mpcstuff.com seemed like any correct size hd would have worked though

but if you see the pins on top of the hard drive it looks different to the pins on top of the hdm10 kit, (i dont have the kit so im assuming this from pictures and videos from youtube)
i just wanted to make sure that this HD would work before i ordered the kit.

any ideas about the where i can get drum kits?
and did you guys all order it from mpc forums?
its 30 bucks but im in canada so shipping and currecny change means atleast $45.

Those pins look like some toshiba proprietary stuff, I don't think it will fit, but you'll need the hdm-10 either way so might as well give it a try.

if that don't work, you can get a 120gb western digital from tigerdirect.com for like $60.00

the type of drive you want is ATA-6 (older laptop hard drive, before serial ATA)
