Holding down pads gives multiple hits

I own a 2000XL. When hitting and holding down the pads multiple hits are being generated.

Im guessing a defect pad sensor.

Any ideas?

Holding down a pad does not give a constant stream of hits but more like 3-4 rapid hits.

This also happens when I dont hit the center of the pad.

Your suppose to hit the pads in a way that makes you flow. An ""experienced"" MPC user like yourself should know that. If I hit a pad and hold it down without releasing right away I do expect it to play the drum sound only once!

If people aint familiar with this issue Im just gonna go for some new pad sensors. Hopefully that`ll solve it.

Nothing out of the ordinary happens when hitting the center of the pad with a quick release.

A slow release triggers the sound 3-4 times, sort of like a very short 1/32 note repeat.

how many fingers are you using when you hit the pad?

how hard are you hitting it?


are you tapping it, or pushing it like a button?

Two fingers.

I tap the pad as well as pushing it like a button. It all depends on the flow and feel of the beat I am making.

Hit-velocity varies as well.



Multiple hits are not being generated if I hit the pad "very hard".

I see no reason being bound to hitting the pads in a curtain way.

Hit->release->hit should be the only thing triggering a second hit.

I recently bought myself an MPC but I am very used to operating one. I have never encountered this problem on any of the countless MPCs I have used before.
