I got a multimix 8, and that ish is dope, cept my dual core pentium is too slow for it. I need a new cmputer anyways, but for the 60 bucks I paid for it, not bad at all. Theyre fairly priced, and have 100 selectable effects too. Nice buy for the $$$.

seems like i can integrate my motif with the mLan card to the alesis multimix 16 firewire (mixer has 2 firewire slots on the backside, but 1 is for the connection with pc i think)

is that right? or isn't it possible to integrate that motif in the mixer via firewire?

Its a dope mixer, i would recommend it to anyone. I use it to out on the field record bands live. The dope thing about it is if you connect it by firewire you can record tracks individually on cubase, ableton, etc. so if you have all 12/16 tracks needing to me recorded and not just on a stereo track you can do it individually. i don't know if its the same for USB. It should do it.

I paid £50 for mine

the second firewire slot is for daisy chaining

can you daisy chain 2 different brands of firewire components? Like say can I chain a Pre-sonus firestudio to the alesis, and use the alesis to mix my channels on the firestudio also?

okay :D
but it was my first thought cause in my manual from the motif is described that you can connect the motif vie mLAN (firewire) to a mixer.

but i think i buy it anyhow. seems like its a good (the best) mixer for that price class.

you can daisy chain as many devices you like... well if you put firestudio to the chain it means like it is connected alone. chaining just means it goes thru to computer..

so in nutshell if you do that you see 2 soundcards in your computer so you cant mix the channels in your alesis for that you would have to route firestudios inputs to firestudios own outputs and connect cables from there to alesis inputs so you wouldnt gain anything :)

sorry if its hard to understand.

you can do this, except if your two interfaces have different amounts of latency, you will need to drag around the tracks recorded on the second interface to get them to line up with the tracks recorded on the first one.

wanted to get the gear more organized and easily accessible so got the 3 tiered keyboard stand monitor stands and laptop stand, and got the gear & wires off of the office tables. I can reach/control everything from seat except vocals i like to stand 1 mic is going into tubepre then into mpc , other going into ableton live 8

the mpc 1000 has midi going out to an midisport usb so can control ableton drumracks too

montors can swivel easy as well

there are two separate computers too the laptop and desktop (right monitor)
