ONE GOOD PEICE OF ADVICE FOR BEATMAKERS AND PRODUCERS

For starting beatmakers:

First visualise how u want to sound
Visualise how u want to work.

Find out how to realise that by trying out everything u can try and by reading up any source u can find.

After a period of 'playing' u probably will find ur favorite gear. Ur production sound and style. U'll find out what type of samples u like to work with and what kind of records, VST's or synths will suit you. What kind of production techniques u favour. Then perfectionise urself in any way.
Set goals and make beats just for training and experimenting, never stop learning and never allow urself to be too satisfied for too long.

Use note repeat ALL THE TIME

You just hold down a pad and it plays it in 16th notes or whatever you set it too. You dont REALLY want to use it ALWAYS but its tight man. Like for 16ths and stuff really you can just play it out you dont need to use it, but I like to use it anyways cause I think it's fun.

I would add: do your own thing and nobody else's. Otherwise you'll never gonna last.

Recognize your uniqueness and never downplay it . We all have certain taste in music , so you might start out doing stuff in the same vein as your favorite producers but use your uniqueness / whatever it is that makes your music not REALLY sound like them to seperate your self from them as much as you can .

Thats what seperates Marley from Premo from Pete Rock from the Beatminerz from Nottz from Illmind from 9th etc. etc.

Always surround yourself with people who are on your level of dedication don't let people waist your time if they aren't serious they will slow you down. Especially rappers make sure you lay your cards on the table once you are confident in your production skills get it in writing or money upfront.
