mpc1000 jjos1 into logic pro 8!! please help!!!

Im trying to figure out how to record my tracks from my mpc1000 with jjos1 into logic8 pro! Im using a midi to usb cable and i cannot get my sequence to record into logic....can someone please walk me through the steps??

so its actually working with it but im getting no sound...this might be a stupid question but do i need an audio interface to hook up the audio ins and out to my macbook pro in order to get the sound?

midi doesnt carry audio. yes you may need an interface to record the main outs for sound and/or record midi notes into reason/logic/whatever

lampdog thats actually wat i tried unfortunatly when i press record in logic it starts playin my sequence in the mpc as if its going to record but then it dosnt pick up any audio and just shows flat lines? So im guess i do need an audio interface and this impossible to do with just a midi to usb cable? Someone please help so i can find out if i need to return the midi to usb cable i baught

ya you are right i really dont understand...i do not have any audo ins..i just have my midi keyboard hooked up to logic via usb and thats it. Sorry for bein such a newb i try to do my research but its all so confusing. So in order to hook my mpc up to logic i am going to need an audio interface correct? Also is their anything else im going to need to get it to work properly? thanks a lot for your help
