Digging Blasphemy

Alright I'm gonna put it forward -

Anyone digging for records, recording them to their computer at the highest quality, and then selling them back to record stores, or on ebay etc.. ?

Because now that my collection is getting bigger, and taking up more space, (as well as a larger % of my income!!)
I'm thinking of just buying, recording, selling,...buying, recording, selling...etc.

I know the vinyl is good to look at, and mad inspiring, but they are taking up real space now, and that's money just sitting there.

I might just keep the real gems, but the more regular records, I'm gonna start selling back.

+1. Most people don't have endless amounts of space to properly store vinyl. Keep the rare gems!

I agree with gertie.Just in a more sober way.

If you don't have the space why keep anything and everything and like LTB said.....most of us don't have endless amounts of space to store vinyl anyways.If i could i would have every piece i ever bought but somethings just can't be done.You're good bro.The vinyl gods will forgive you.

it's a an investment, my vinyls been with me since i left my house as a kid i was 17 when i left and i left with a bag of close and my records.since then i have collected 100x what i had i left with1 crate,now i have ahole garage full and some of my house,there the first thing to move when i move.
i don't record them unless i want to listen to then in them in the car.but i feel you.it hard for me to get rid of my baby's they have made me lots of money and bought me lots of joy&pain but that's part of being a collector.

if the record you have ,you think you can get money for them or break out even then go for it.what gets me is that if you record them to your comp or what ever it is you record them to,what if you lose that or it crashes and you lose everything. the what?I'm just saying that's my fear that why i don't do digital it's to easy to just lose or get lost, or even neglect, a record doesnt let you do that.

but thats me and evryone isnt as lucky as i am i guess,to me my records come first all else is second.

listening to a full bit-rate recording, is the same as listening to the actual vinyl.

I keep all "listenable" records (I'm talking bout music quality here and not about scratches or weared records). But I also bought really bad records with nothing but some sampleable snares or orchestra stabs on it. These are near worthless for me and I just dont have the space for them so I sample the useful parts and sell them.

I keep both! I made the mistake many years ago selling all my analog drum machines when I get into sampling and regret it still to this day.
If you can keep your vinyl do man!

I have numerous records and I wish that they were digitized but I dont have time to listen to them, flip them. I dont see how people do it. There has to be a easier way. Anyone?
