could somebody explain "OS"?? and these updates i mean whuts they deal with em?

The OS (operating system) of you mpc is the software that it runs on. Without it, your mpc ain't much more than a paperwight. Manufacturers will update the operating systems for their products to fix 'bugs' from the previous version.

On the Akai Website you can find the current OS version for download, and the instructions what to do with it. It fixes some bugs.

There are some bugs (trim bug) that you will run into sooner or later.

Your Dell computer runs on a Windows OS (XP, 2000, etc)...u can look at it like that.
Dell is the hardware
Windows is the OS
