I See Steinberg Ain't Playing

I'm just sharing some thoughts on new gear that's been recently presented at this years namm. I notice Steinberg supposedly started shipping their new Nuendo Syncstation.

This is the kinda stuff I like. It's got everything you need if you do audio and especially video. Plus it intergrates into Nuendo 4 seamlessly.

I digs this type of advanced sh!t. If I hadn't made a purchase on the Apogee Big Ben I got last year, I'd probably jump all over this (w/ the Nuendo 4 upgrade in mind as well).

I've been using nuendo since 02 but I haven't got around to 4 yet. Nuendo is that sh!t!!! I'm just now learning about the post production capabilities using it with video. I love nuendo.

I personally haven't had the chance to dive into nuendo's video stuff... I am still on ver 3. Very solid to the point system...

I've been a supporter of Nuendo since day one. I'm stuck dreaming about the day I get the WK Audio ID Console to control Nuendo.

Yea I'm still on 3 too. I haven't had the chance to do any video type stuff with nuendo either but I've had the chance to learn the process so I'm lookin foward to it.

Yeah, I'm excited about getting into doing music videos. With my boy owning a highend Canon 1080i HD cam and both of us having the resources to pull this off, I think Nuendo will def be up for the challenge.

Can't do any video editing in nuendo. Just audio post production shit as far as I kno. If u doin a lil show or something where u have to clean up the audio its perfect especially wit the right plug ins.

If you're using nuendo version 3 or 4, you do have some basic video editing features.

yeah,if your looking for video editing sony vegas looks wholly proffesional with the same kind of editing video/audio as soundforge.im wanting to get a copy.also check out nero for good basic video editing with a couple of tracks for audio.easy

magix has the latest movie maker program and that works well with sampletude and music maker. fl studio has some kind of video pluggin also but I dont use it... there are so many out there.

This is just a FYI...for those that would like to try cubase 5, steinberg offers a 30 day trial on it. From what I've gathered, it's fully functional except you're required to provide your own usb doggle in order for it to work. And one nifty feature I thought would be interesting is that 5 has what's called a beat creation and mangling tool. This should strike some interest from a lot of folks.

However, 5 doesn't do video. But...Yamaha has been up on their game ever since they aquired Steinberg back a little while ago. Example, got a motif xs, I see it's fully intergrated with cubase just by plugging in the firewire connection and using it as a vst instrument. Now that's tight as sh!t.

Anyway, I thought I'd throw that out there.

Wow, that sounds pretty awesome. I didn't know yamaha used to own steinberg, but either way it was a very smart move considering the era we are in and are getting to. The only way to sell hardware is with good creditable software also.

Yeah, I think there's more of a ownership thing going on in that camp as opposed to lets say, akai doing the partnership thing with ableton.

The same thing with cakewalk and roland. That's all I've been seeing lately with these major playing hardware companies either partnering with or buying out/taking over software companies.

The best thing I feel about the Yamaha acquiring Steinberg is that Motif XS song files are in Cubase format. So you can easily import Motif XS songs into Cubase for further editing and mixing.
