New to the MPC 4000....Please help

Hey guys ....i just purchased a mpc 4000 and i am trying to hook it up to a motif rack and midi controller keyboard..What i would like to do is be able to control the motif rack with the midi controller keyboard and have the sound register in the mpc so i can record and sequence my progressions,without sampling the sounds.Is this possible?..As of now i can only here the sounds i am playing on the keyboard(meaning-motif rack sounds) when i have the mpc set to record mode(meaning-i can only sample the sounds through the audio inputs)but no sound is heard from the midi connections...however the midi input signal on the main screen does register but i hear nothing..

MIDI does Not Transmit Sound. Just Data.

Like "Lord Toranaga" said, MIDI dont carry sound. You would need to connect your MPC and Motif Keyboard up to a mixer, or a computer interface that allow you to hear both the MPC and Motif at the same time.

Fjiieeeeww... Such expensive gear and such little knowledge!

Hey....Even I would probably have struggled with that 1 for a while b4 I remembered the MIDI IS NOT AUDIO info I read a while back.

Good thang I haven´t coped my 4k yet. I´ve been using tha last one and half months researchin on this "beast".

Am getting it sometime next month. In the meantime, I´ll be in here learning.
