FYI on the 1200 pitch adjustments:
There's another variable resistor located on the pitch fader PCB that controls the "zero offset" of the pitch fader. It's there to make sure that the pitch fader in fact slows the platter down when you move it backwards and speeds it up when you move it forwards. Regardless, because of the quartz lock feature the 1200 will always spin at 33 (or 45) when in the center click position with the light on (unless you've got one with quartz lock disabled..). If you get this adjustment wrong you'll have a second zero position on the pitch fader to one side or the other of the quartz lock zero. It's not the end of the world, but can be irritating. Also, it's worth checking to see if the pitch fader gives you stable speed all the way through it's travel in both directions. If your 1200 has had a rough life, it might require a new one.
Unfortunately I don't remember the correct adjustment procedure, but it's out there somewhere!

No sweat!
I found the procedure that I used to calibrate mine here : http://www.stephensykes.com/blog_perm.html?110
Easiest and most methodical way to get it right!
This is also kinda cool: http://music.hyperreal.org/dj/sl1200.html
If I think of anything else I'll post it up..
Have fun!
PS- check out kabusa.com for some siiiick 1200 mods.

or maybe paint one of the 1200's to go with the alesis micron theme you've already got in place... i've never seen a sliver/red/black technics before... that color scheme may or may not "work" on a turntable, but i'm curious regardless.
