iam not the only one CAN WE SYNC MPC60 to Logic Pro???

i am afraid the steps in Lampdogs Sync your mpc to..... links wont apply for us 60 owners

i know i am not the only one on here who tries to figure out how to do it.

basicaly, I (we) have set up Logic as a Soundmodule to the MPC 60 (3.10)

but cant figure out how to get Logic slaved to be in Sync with the MPC Sequencer, so that we can have smth like an Audio Recording playing sync with the Sequence.

does anybody have real knowledge about this?

i would love to just ditch Logic and teh DAW, but nope, i need it for complex/long Instrment recordings and a few other things...

It's Akai's links.

There was no mpc60 mentioned on any of the pages or links.

I tried the links too. Like Lampdog said the older MPCs are not mentioned. I was trying to Sync MPC3000 to Reason i gave up and use a MPC2000xl. People who haven't tried think it's a simple setting adjustment but its not. Maybe if you find an answer that might help me too. Goodluck :D

sheeehs i really cant find anything... the only lil bit of info says to slave your mp to the DAW.. i wont do that

the only thing i can think of now i playing the INstrument track after the Song is recorded into the DAW

but that again means it wont go throuth the same 2bus chain as the song and will probably be hard to integrate in matters of Glue and EQ.... not a nice option

Try a different daw, older version of any daw thats closer to the heyday of the 60/3000.
Different asio drivers. Try different stuff, not just frustrate yourself with the same thing over and over.

"we" as in me and ion, both tried this but to no avail, except I am on an MPC3000 (3.11)

doing the samething, using Logic soley only as a sound module and doing all the sequecing into the MPC

but every now and then we would like to throw an audio file (for example: vocal) into Logic's arrange window and see how it would sound together with the MPC, this is when "sync" would come into play but for some strange reason it does not want to follow

in the other hand, I can get Logic to notice the frame rate of the MPC, I would hit Play on the MPC and on the transport bar in Logic the Play button would highlight green, indicating that it's playing but nothing is moving along in the arrange window, hmmmm

This is my solution (this only applies for Logic users) if you really want to hear how your audio sounds like with what you sequenced into your MPC

take that audio file

export that audio file (export as audio file) make sure the Logic tempo matches your MPC tempo before exporting it

drag that audio file into Logic's EXS24 sampler, save it into whatever folder your keep your samples in

now you have the ability to sequence that audio file into your MPC

lil update, nothing seriously accomplished tho

a friend of mine is giving me some hints in a german Forum, that he thinks Logic slaves to almost everything in his experience and that we should try SMPTE through a SMPTE-able Interface or a SMPTE to MTC Converter.... i have no idea how tho

is SMPTE needs any extra kind of jack in the interface, there is no unusual jack on the mpc 60 back.... only those 1/4" SYNC OUT / IN jacks....

huuuuh.. hey sounds not bad... so you mean the MPC triggers the Logic sampler so that in the right moment a Midi note is sent to START the sampler play back the Audio? even if teh Audio is like 3 Minutes long?

is that accurate?

Oooh, if your audio is 3 minutes long than your sequence in your MPC better be 3 minutes long as well :lol:

sorry this only applies for how many bars you are working with

for example: I once found this nice audio bass guitar sound in the Apple loop, it was a quick 4 bar loop

but I was working with 8 bars of music in my MPC

so I just took that audio file, dragged it into the EXS24 and was able to play it but I had to hit it twice so it would go on after the 4 bars
