STAND. always. to me the MPC is an instrument. I don't use it for complete productions or sequences or anything long and involved, but for sequenced loops, of both samples and midi to analog synths. i always prefer to stand when playing, and sit while using a computer.

also, what's that unit on the far wall with the two lamps on it? I'm not really a gear head, so...

a tripod and a stool. actually when i say "stool", i mean road case on top of a bass guitar cabinet. i'm gonna have another one taken with me in it asap.

modular synth. sound creation by connecting modules with patch cords. each module deals with with audio (oscillators, noise, etc ), modifying soung (filter, amp, processor, mixer, etc) or control voltages (envelope generator, low-frequency oscillator, etc). most useful parameters can be voltage controlled by any available voltage. build as you go. worst name for a company yet: synthesizers.com

thanks. i find the micron a workhorse for live stuff, but i haven't even hooked up the audio outs in a while, i've just been using it as a cv-gate controller for my analog synths... too many softsynths kill my need for the micron for polyphonic stuff, and i've got all the mono i need in analog. why not though? never know when i might want to rock live keyboard without the computer for once

also i dig the simplicity of the micron, and 3 octaves is the magic number for me. if only i could find a nice 3 octave midi keyboard with normal wheels, even 3.5, like a minimoog kb and wheelbox but just a midi controller. if only...

I love your studio payote! Is that a modular synth in a bookcase? Damn good idea. I found synthesizer.com a while ago and would love to get into that, but I don't really have the scratch to do it. Did you design your own setup or did you get one of the setups they already had? How is it? Sorry for all the questions... Just drooling here. One more. What's under the Micron? Bad ass.

actually since adding the 3 tiered stand for the mpk, apc and mpc , the laptop stand, and the monitor stands for the krk's where each piece is angle and height adjustable at any time it has made EVERYTHING easy to reach and the most comfortable setup i've had in 16 years'
