I didnt do but ONE Red Function Button, and chose to stay with mostly all black everything. So Im sure some cats could look at it and not realize how much actually went into it. I kinda like that.

It definitely doesn't pop like Son's does, but I LOVE my joint. SO thats wuts up.

Here is a album of some pics.

P.S. the Custom Thread is back Kickin Again. HahAA!!!

thanks man. And thanks Kustom!

Actually that's a White LCD and All White LEDs. The Cam makes the LEDs look a bit blue just like Sons cam made is Red look pink lol.
and while the screen is actually White, the darker areas are actually between a dark navy blue and black in person. again the cam exaggerates the colors due to the lighting in the room.

as for the buttons... the data wheel, cursor, faders, Cf card slot, dvd drive bezel and knobs and knob tops are all actually OEM Akai black. No Paint there.
All the lrg, med, and function buttons on the other hand were carefully painted by me. The plan originally was half black and half red, in specific areas.. but I liked the murdered out all black look so much once I started, I just ran with it. I know A LOT OF PEOPLE do black pads and black buttons, but I have not seen ANY ONE with an all blacked out 2500 with a white LCD and all white LEDs (even the mini play led).
so that means (at this point anyway) that its one of a kind and CUSTOM.   (rationalizing)

I would love to go as far as sonseelye and kustom went with their joints and paint my top cover and re screen it and all that. I just ain't got the loot for it right now, not to mention all the good color combination's are pretty much used up(considering pad colors an all).
I'm too picky when it comes to sh!t like that and I like simple color combos. anything too complex or detailed.. wears out pretty fast.
The Silver/red and silver/blue joints they did. HOT AS PHUCK!

At one point if I can pick colors I like, I'll do my top cover since I do intend on buying a new oem akia top cover cause I CANT PHUCKIN STAND all the little scratches that get on mine. some are like pin head size, some bigger, but they look like specs of dust that wont come off. DRIVES ME INSANE. lol . The factory akai paint is trash. so thin and wears and scratches so easily. SO eventually Ill have two top covers and that is when the fun will begin. Until then I still LOVE my joint.

they are made of three pieces of ashwood that are now glued and bolted together as one piece.
feel free to rebuild your own based on that design (which was in turn inspired by the original akai mpc 3000 and some custom ones from forat).
sorry for the dirty pads on the pic, they are now clean again...

Dope. I dont know which I like better... the red on silver or silver on red.

I think the red cap on silver looks more fitting since red is more of a highlight color. but none the less the sh!t looks dope as phuck man.

Man... You (Sonsee) take the customization game to another level  I didn't even want my MP customized until I saw your work. When I get some excess paper I gotta get you to do something to my Classic. Your work is crazy and your right around the corner (somewhere in Tidewater), if I'm not mistaken :?:
