Just bought a 2500 from the States, Australian Voltages.

Hey There,
So I am quite excited, was agonizing between a 1000 or 2500 for ages and finally decided to go for the 2500 which I just bought a few minutes ago .

I just have a small question, I was hoping someone may have been in a similair situation or perhaps knows the answer to it. The unit I bought is from the USA and I live in Australia, am I going to have any issues with plugging it into an Australian power supply? Last thing I want to do is fry it...

yes you will have issue's but it is an easy fix go down to your local electronics store and purchase a power convertor will cost approx $10 and you will be all good I did the same thing about 7 years ago when i bought my 1000. Another option is to try find a power cord that connects with the MPC and also adapts to australian power connections.

The power cord is just a standard one that fits all computers etc inst it? looks like it from the pics ive seen.
So you definitly need a converter? The cheapest, step-down converter ive seen is like 60 bucks... do you just mean a plug converter so the US power cable will fit into the australian socket?

yeh just a plug convertor, and yeh just the power cable with the australian standard ends on it

the mpc 2500 like all modern mpcs has a switching power supply that will accept any current from 110 to 240 volts and 50 or 60 hz.
this means you´ll only need the cord with the right plug for australian sockets.
