If it was designed with the holes in the faceplate I'd suggest keeping with that design.

yeah seriously, doesn't the 2000 classic screen get lines faster then the xl because of heat?

My Classic had a minty screen from 1996 and my XL from 1998-1999 had a screen full of lines, but I am not the first user either so there's no way to know how many hours each one was used. I seriously doubt that the classic generates more heat if any at all but Lampdog has pointed out a good rule of thumb.........."Stick with the original design" I am currently waiting for my screen to come back from VST, I had them solder on the longer cable so I can put it in my XL, then the body/brains of the classic will probably hit ebay.
Anyways, an exacto knife does the trick for cutting the vent holes on the classic, and it looks perfect, if I was to cut the holes with the vinyl plotter, and the customer stretched the skin too much during installation, the holes might not line up perfect and it would look real sloppy. Imagine a dark skin with white from the O.G. case peeking out around the vents......not a good look! So that's the deal with that.

Well, I hope my customer doesn't mind, but here's a test run I did for an order this morning:

This one hasn't been laminated, but this should give you a good idea of the fit:

Some of the edges still need tucked in, I apply these with soapy water so I can re-position them without stretching the skin, it takes some time for the edges to dry out and set, this is fresh I just put it on right before I took the pic.

BTW this one wraps around the sides too, per the customers request.

Hope you guys like it, and I hope my Homey from Rochester doesn't mind, I'll be shipping it out to him today, so you'll prob. see it again when he gets it, and I'm sure it will look much better than it does on my beat-up XL with snot green buttons!

Yes, I can print on clear, but there is no white ink in the digital printer, that's the only limitation, so it would be best if you used a bright colored paint with dark labels to contrast.

Can be done either way, but it is much more cost-effective for me to send you a sticker that costs $5.00 to ship, than for us to be shipping a big heavy faceplate back and forth. Besides, who would want to Use their MPC without the faceplate for 2 weeks while it's in transit?

Although, if the customer so desires, they can certainly send me the faceplate and I will install it for you free of charge.
