MPC arranging or logic

you can ARRANGE in the mp all day.arrangeing is the sequence of the song. I use logic too,but more for recording and mixing.I do my mutes and panning in logic and processing my sounds also.but to me it's whatever gets you the results you want, the quickest way you can get them.now if you take the time to learn logic,its a beast with virtually no limits! having both your definetly on top of the game. yo haze dope link!!!!!

Logic with an MPC is such a dope thing. Once you fully learn it, is becomes an extremely powerful tool for you to use. It's also one of those things that's worth taking in every detail of, because it is clear that Apple intends to remain a player in the Music Composition world for a very, very, long time. I just wish that they'd simplify the midi stuff inside. In all humility, I have a pretty deep understanding of midi functionality in D.A.W.'s, and yet Logic's midi stuff is still way too cumbersome - Reub.

But that wasn't even the topic.

You guys talked about the arranging/sequencing in the first place. And THAT is a step, which can actually be done in an MPC - in a very comfortable manner imho.

You see i prefer sequencing and arranging in the maxed out MPC(1k that is) via Song mode (Did software sequencing in the past - never satisfied me as much). You can do this on the balcony or any other decent place and let the mood (or the doobie ) inspire you...
I play with panning/reverb etc. while sequencing or before while hammering the beat so it already sounds somewhat decent.
AFTER I'm satisfied with the whole song structure i turn off any effect/panning info etc. from every single track.

Then I (hail the 1k) resample every single dry(!) track (HiHats, Kicks, Samples balablabla...) in Song Mode and save shit as single wav samples on my 4GB CF-Card. I do so because my AD/DA converters of the audio interface aren't that tight and i dont like additional humming etc. on my tracks...

Not till then i touch the PC and import every single track into my DAW(ableton live).
Here i'm mixing, readding the (better) effects, pans etc. and finally even the vocals of the MC.

Tataa, thats my way of working, aiming to use the computer as little as possible. I'm fine with it.

Whatever works for you great. We are talking about sound modules too aka soft synths unless you were sampling those in the mpc too??? We have all used song mode for arranging but it's a time saver arranging midi regions and midi editing in a Daw that is just me. Anyways for me soft sample and synth collection were a switch I made two to three years back to get the best of both worlds as decent multisamples libraries for hardware was few in between and I scaled back my hardware synths to go all soft. Tracking in midi to a logic is less noise, clear, and fast. Plus I do the same with ableton live. Mpc just a seqencer and controller these days.

yea ive read this post numerous times all 14 pages too, still didnt get my mpcs metronome to come out logic, and also that post talks about beat mapping, are you still using beat mapping?

towards the end of clints post where he says "Load your samples/ drumkits/ synths into logic by choosing and using the correct instruments (try the template first to see how it works). Hit record in Logic after setting a loop of 8,16 or 32 bars".....is another part where i get thrown off, is he speaking of loading samples/drumkits that are in your mpc into logic? and if so exactly how do you do that?

theres a lot of fantasie in interviews with producers.still he obviously did most of the programming on the incredibly simple mpc.that can give you real soul,imo.........i personally use whatever is available.just so much choice nowadays..
