painting the bottom panel

I would like to paint the bottom panel of my 2000XL. As long as the vents are not blocked, are there any concerns with putting paint on the bottom?

my 2000 classic aint got bottom vents.sure ya dont meqn the topl plte?with the vents located above the pads?
if so any paint would do but a plastic based one may last longer n not chip as easy .

Nope, actually talking about the steel panel that is on the very bottom. Has vent cutouts on each end, a section to screw the zip drive on and 4 feet.

Its the exposed bottom panel if you turn the unit upside down.

He has an XL, not a classic, so the vents would not be on top...anyway, a member here (sonseelye) recommended me polycarbonate paint for platics, found at hobby shops. I was gonna paint my casing but I'm sure that paint would still be good for the bottom. I'm also not sure if its bad to paint down there

remove the plate first, wipe it down with mineral spirits or a solvent to remove all oils and gunk, primer, scuff and then paint it. let it dry over night. painting the bottom plate shouldn't pose any issues to the heat transfer or functionalty of the machine.

hit it with a clearcoat if you want it to last.
