Do you master inside the beat (each track) or master outside the beat?

because right now I use reason, akai s-3000 emulator, and acid.

but the sample rate on reason is really shitt unless I save the beat as a whole track. but when I save each track as a wave file to master in acid, it always sounds shitty after.

So do you guys master outside the beat on inside?

or both?

Mastering is done on the whole mix... Waves C-4 Compessor for Mastering and some Blue Tubes Limiting....

I might EQ and compress each track a tiny bit, but nothing drastic... Mastering is done on the whole mix...

so I shoudn't master each track in a beat?

I usually master outside unless I want to clean up a certain sound
or samp but if you listen to each individual sound you will know
wether it needs work and I mean kicks and all but if you work and
build your tracks in reason there are a number of ways to get a rich
clean sound in your mix by putting an Scream 4 destruction unit
right under the interface and a RV7000 then add your mixer you
will notice a difference in your mixes right away just watch your
vol levels and avoid clipping.

Once your mix is tight in Reason then you export your audio
to wherever and do your vocals and mix it down there are alot
of different ways people that use Reason mix and Master their
trks in Reason then export and put the finishing touches on it
like in pro-tools or Logic,Soundforge.

I use the Waves Gold 3.5 dither , low pass filter, High pass filter
if necessary and be careful of high frequencies on your snares
or high hats you do not want an overly compressed track
you want a crystal clear mix where you can hear a pin drop
in between each individual sound when you hear a track of
this caliber you would understand and appreciate what a tight
a** mix is.
