blipmode wrote:FYI on the 1200 pitch adjustments:

There's another variable resistor located on the pitch fader PCB that controls the "zero offset" of the pitch fader. It's there to make sure that the pitch fader in fact slows the platter down when you move it backwards and speeds it up when you move it forwards. Regardless, because of the quartz lock feature the 1200 will always spin at 33 (or 45) when in the center click position with the light on (unless you've got one with quartz lock disabled..). If you get this adjustment wrong you'll have a second zero position on the pitch fader to one side or the other of the quartz lock zero. It's not the end of the world, but can be irritating. Also, it's worth checking to see if the pitch fader gives you stable speed all the way through it's travel in both directions. If your 1200 has had a rough life, it might require a new one.

Unfortunately I don't remember the correct adjustment procedure, but it's out there somewhere!

i figured all of this out and i also disabled my quartz lock and click,,and also i found out a way to keep my pitch light on all the time and still be able to control the pitch with -12 +12 and center being dead on (with at least a half an hour frame)(didnt have any more time to let it spin) but im sure it would have stayed for a while.

so after hacking my pitch harness, and then removing the ball from the slider,i then cut the 7th resistor and added to in parrallel* after that,i ran 2 tiny wires from my 33 led to the pitch led...so when i play 33's the pitch light stays on and when i play 45's(never) the pitch light will turn off(in the meanwhile i have total control over my pitch)..

the reason i did this was because no matter what i tried,i couldnt get the pitch light to turn on at center.
and after calibrating the deck, dead center is at zero..i dont need strobes or a pitch light if the calibration is correct.
but now i have both and i dig that the pitch light is on all the time....thats my own mod!!!!!

you might as well just put leds under the platter while your at it, which doesn't sound like a bad idea at all
