Should I buy an ASR-10 or should I buy a MPK?

Depends do you specifically want a proper sampling keyboard? Synth? Rompler? Synth+Rompler?

What software u running? I'm running a mp2k too and is to thinking of copping an asr. If ur running some dope software with cool sample editing like live 8, u might find u don't need an asr. I feel u though. Sampling on hardware just seems cooler.

why not try them out and see which suits your needs ? asr prices been pretty stable lately and mpk can always be returned within 30 day return policy

Yup. +1 on Maschine.

MPK's are worst built pieces of crap ever (horrible feeling on the keys / pads / feel cheap). I got one in a trade, and sold it the next day. Upon selling it and it being double boxed (w/ original one) by UPS store, it arrived at the buyers place with 4 popped up keys.

Being a hardcore Ensoniq person. You should really get an ASR10, sturdy built, great MIDI controller, awseome sampling (easy and sound great), a dope effects. Plus its a workstation, you dont need anything else to make great beats.

if you could get a miniture asr 10 id have one straight away

yup. whatever you do, don't get an MPK.
they are notorious for keys suddenly popping out/up.

asr rack with axiom25?

i got an axiom 25, dope controllers..

but if you already got an mp(for pads+sequencer) and a decent computer, then get an asr and a usb/midi interface.. thats an ill setup. although i never used an asr.

he said he wanted a mini asr so asr rack with mini keyboard (plus i think racks come with scsi and output expander) doesnt the axiom have those semi weighted keys? correct me if im wrong
