Sample Chopping HELP!

Hey everyone, im new to this forum and dont really know how this works but im in desperate need of help. I have a 10 second sample. I chop it up using zone edit. Unlike the 1000 or the 2500, after i chop up the sample and opt to create a new program, when i hit the pads of the new program, the samples overlap each other i have read the manual and searched online for weeks but cant find anything on this topic. I am using a 2000xl. If anyone has any info on this plz let me know, thanks!

Thanks, tried that...Don't really get it...just gonna get rid of the 2000xl and get a 1000....the 1000's are way user friendly...thanks

not quite sure if i understand your problem. but try this: in the sample assign window, turn your samples to 'mono' (that'll prevent an individual sample from playing over the top of itself), or turn the whole program to 'mono'. that'll stop samples from playing over the top of each other.
(i don't have a 2kxl, but i presume you have these options)

you're clearly still getting to know your machine. i suggest you wait till you know it better before you decide to ditch it. you've got a very capable machine.

Nope, program/mono is not in the 2kxl. No can do.

damn, this is gonna suck if you decide to buy a new machine because you cant figure out how to do something with what you've already got. i can understand if you've had the 2kxl for awhile now and want to get rid of it, but if you just recently got it and now your already getting rid of it, seems like you need to learn what researching is...

I agree with this statement.

i was also disapointed when i lerned this after purchasing my 2000 xl, i was coming from a 1000 so with out the same mono function i felt i was way better with the 1000 at making beats.but know i love using the note on function kus if your good enough you can make it seem like your using the mono thing, you just gota get good with using note off and youl find your beats even sounding better in my opinion. but ofcourse this depends on what your doing
