Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

so ive been getting around the 2000xl, many similar things, but many different windows in different places. overall layout is the same, yet so different.

my main observation/question was that it seems like that on the 2000xl compared to the 2500, you have to hit the pads a little harder. (?) i know the pads are softer, but i feel like i got to give it a little more to get to higher velocities and more audible sound. whereas, the 2500, seems pretty sensitive to me hitting the pads. the slightest tap on the 2500 will give a louder volume and the slightest tap on the 2000xl, the sample is barely audible. is it just cause the 2kxl is an older unit?

also, got my first screen line. it flickers sometimes, and sometimes goes away, sometimes stays lined. it seems like it happens when i change from different windows or just power the unit on. ive read on the forum about the lines and it's probable, i mean i can't complain i only have one, but having none to one is sort of a b*tch. i was wondering, obviously no way to get it out but how can i avoid getting more? and why does this exactly happen? is it from having the unit on over long periods of time? if so, how am i supposed to work on the beats mang!

The 2kxl has pads with MPC style sensitivity not this mess that they have now with adjustable sensitivity that has no real functional point.
Learn to appreciate it.

If you just got your 2kxl and the display is starting then you should go ahead now with your quest of finding and replacing the display.
I hope you got a good enough of a deal that having to buy as display doesn't make it a bad deal.

^ could you explain this a bit.? what is adjustable sensitivity vs. the mpc style?

also, is the screen gets its first line, does that mean its prone to getting more? what causes these lines again? i know how much of a **** it's to get these screens now that they are d/c.

i copped the 2kxl, with out 8outs, 32 mb ram in mint condition minus this new screen issue for 5 hund.

Good price.

Lines come from heat, normal usage throughout the years, 2kxl's are very old, nothing last forever.

just got my second line. once you get the lines, are they prone to getting more compared to a used screen without any? i just don't want my machine to start lining up like mad. i got a little bit of that ocd.

also, could someone explain that adjustable sensitivity vs mpc sensitivity? word

my bad if these are repetitive questions, just want to get to know this older machine inside out.
