Sodimm Error MPC 2500

Whats up people,

I have a question I bought a Transcend 256 MB memory module 144 pin SODIMM CL3 sdram,
for my MPC 2500..

But when I click it in, it says: 128 mb installed SODIMM ERROR!!!!

and than it freezes..

Does anyone know what happened or what I did wrong?

I checked previous posts, but that didnt help for me..
Only thing that could be the problem is static hands..
But than again I could not bring it back because it doesnt work anymore..

Are u for a 100% sure it's seated right?

Otherwise I'm affraid it ain't compatible.

I ran into this problem once... My RAM that i had moved out of the slot via transport, so I opened it up and realligned it. Although, I wasn't grounded and the static electricity on my fingers fried the RAM. Thus, I got that same error. End of the story, had to get new RAM and made sure to install it with one of my fingers touching the exterior metal. Hope it helps

I bought a new one, a kingston pc 133 256 etc,
tried what u said, make sure I dont fry it...

but still the same error!

god damnit!

PS how can I test if its fried?
