came across an ad in the paper, went there today and wow! 10,000 45s @AU.50cents each. a rare thing in australia for that cheap..
i left with 20 and didn't make it halfway through the first top shelf. i had my pt-01 and that took me about an hour and a half.
found some gems though.. just the tip of the iceberg. :D 8)

yeah this lady is cool with me digging too. she bought out a record store that was going out of business, coz she has a jukebox that takes 45's..

she says it's all 70s-80s. the first photo is the one i can dig through which are doubles/triples of the other two shelves in the second photo. i found 7 copies of one 45, it does make it quicker to look through though.

the problem i'm having is justifying what is worth 50cents. i know that sounds cheap but, is one good snare drum worth 50cents when the rest of the 45 is garbage?
i'm not sure. i snapped up a couple breaks, some nice sample loops, a few guitar stabs and the rest of the 20 i left with where mostly one or two shots.. if i continue at this rate those 50cents will add up on the end.. it's all good, that's digging for ya. :D

it's really satisfying though, i'm just glad there not lps or i'd be there for the rest of my life, 45s are quick and easy to skim through with the needle.

i found the original sample for nas - 2nd child hood.. but didn't pick it up, why should i? i got stillmatic lp and doubles of premo instos with it on it. but was fun to listen to, i might still get it for shiits n giggles. after listening again.. nope. but it's like i'm a kid in a candy store(2nd childhood) 8) going back today!

sounds like you're being very picky. you're not going to come across a collection like this for a long, long time in aust. slap down your digging budget for the next year -- $300 or $400 or whatever, see if that'll give you more of a discount and grab anything that takes your fancy. the gems are the ones you don't expect and often take repated listening till you grasp their genius. don't hold back, 'cause someone else won't.
have fun, lucky bastard.

That's a good find.Enjoy it.(i know i would)

And as for those shelves it looks like they are "bolted" in.Probably into the studs of the wall. It's going to be hell taking those down not to mention repairing the wall afterwards.
