can i use every cf card

just bought two takeMs 1gb cards (hyperSpeed 120x) can i use em for my mp? anybody got experience with these cards? i can't test the cards on my mp rite now cause the screen is broke

Try a SanDisk 1GB. The 2KXL is very picky with the CF cards. Those are the only ones I used when I had one.

i use canon and sandisk cards without any problem...i have yet to find a card not compatible

When i put card reader inside XL, i had problems with Kingston 1GB CF-card.
(that version, where is image of waterlily on the top of the card)
So i bought some 2GB card, which manufacturer i can't remember. Maybe Verbatim or Transcend.
Anyway, that worked.

thanks for your replies...the mpc is fixed tomorrow then ima check the cf cards out.

just checked em i think they don't work ...would it help if i format the cf cards on laptop cause the mp don't recognize em?

did you plug them in the cardreader BEFORE yout boot the MPC?

no i put em in the mp but can't format, i talked to the shop where i bought em and i think ima send those cards back and get 2 transcend cf cards, i heard they working good with the mpc.

you must first FAT format on the PC,then it will work on the MPC..

yeah thanks i formated the new transcend 1gb 133x but it wont work there some crazy signs when put the card in the mpc

i have 2 kingston 1gb cards (those with the waterlily on top) and they work perfectly here. using os1.20 on a mpc 2000xl.

i had to format them in the pc using fat.

i sent the transcend cards back to the store they didn't work with mp but today i got my 2 sandisk 1gb cards in the mail and they work perfectly, thanks for the replies

I don´t find a Sandisk compact flash 1 gb !!!

It´s posible use Transcent 133x Compact Flash 1 gb with akai mpc 2000xl ?

In spain, it´s imposible for me, buy the Sandisk 1 gb, I find in a lot of shoop !!

the transcend 133x didn't work in my mp but search on ebay for a sandisk 1gb card there are a lot of cards there and they cheap. and like soul one said the kingston 1gb work too with the mp.

DO NOT buy 1 gb sandisk cards from mpcstuff.com it's a rip off 30 bucks instead go to j and r computer or camera world or best buy and get a sandisk ultra 2gb 15mb/s compact flash card. You have to format it for the mpc and you can only use 1 gig of it but it costs 14.99 and after formating it it will work on your computer at least on my mac. Save youself 15 bucks and you have to wait for a package from usps.
